SUMMARY OF WORK ENVIRONMENT, WORK PERFORMED, AND DESIRED OUTCOMES OR RESULTS:
Working in a team-based environment, the Software Engineer will be responsible for building and extending software systems, troubleshooting existing internal applications and applying technical solutions to business problems and needs as identified by our customers. The candidate will assist in support of an existing PHP/LAMP application, but should have strong .NET skills to assist with migrating the product to the .NET stack. The candidate will also be motivated to improve upon the existing applications, tools, and processes.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In a Software Engineer role:

  • Requirements analysis
  • Develop software in C#.NET environment using structured coding practices
  • Develop schemas and stored procedures in a MS SQL Server environment
  • Analyze, test and install application updates
  • Respond to inquiries from internal customers regarding errors, problems or questions
  • Maintain legacy VB.NET and PHP applications
  • Document issues, resolutions, and code

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Candidates for this role will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT, Business or another relevant field with outstanding academics, or equivalent experience, and the demonstrated ability to learn. .?

Experience:

  • 4+ years development experience using an OO programming language (.NET preferred)
  • 2+ years experience using C#.NET, ASP.NET, and relational databases (T-SQL preferred)
  • Strong understanding of OO design principles
  • Experience with a scripting language, PHP or Perl a plus
  • Familiarity with Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP) stack helpful but not required
  • Background in database analysis/engineering is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in initiating improvements to the quality of applications and processes
  • Knowledge of ASP.NET MVC helpful but not required
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management principles helpful but not required
  • Experience working with source control, git preferred
