SUMMARY OF WORK ENVIRONMENT, WORK PERFORMED AND DESIRED OUTCOMES OR RESULTS:
Working in a team-based environment, the Software Engineer will be responsible for building and extending software systems, troubleshooting existing applications and applying technical solutions to business problems and needs as identified by our customers.

Following the agile process, our software engineers work closely with our QA team to deliver modern, interactive software solutions to our customers. If you are interested in expanding your toolsets, and working with large data alongside a team of strong engineers, then NRC is interested in you.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop software in C#.NET environment using structured coding practices
  • Create user interfaces with current HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks
  • Develop schemas and stored procedures in a MS SQL Server environment
  • Perform code reviews and participate in the agile process
  • Contribute to architectural designs and requirements analysis
  • Create and update technical documentation

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Candidates for this role will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT, Business or another relevant field with outstanding academics, or equivalent experience, and a demonstrated interest in continual learning

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience using C#.NET, ASP.NET, HTML/CSS/JS, and relational databases (T-SQL preferred)

  • Strong understanding of software security principles

  • Experience with unit testing and Git source control a plus

  • Demonstrated experience in initiating improvements to the quality of applications and processes

  • Demonstrated ability to document work in both code and external documents
